Nature: Ammonium metavandate powder can be obtained by precipitating an alkaline solution of V2O5 with ammonium chloride or obtained industrially from vanadite mineral via a complex procedure. Ammonium metavanadate is soluble in hot water, but not very soluble in a saturated solution of NH4CL. Ammonium metavandate, also known as ammonia vanadate, is used in the preparation of catalysts for inorganic and organic synthesis and in the fabrication of colours and paints. When burnt in the air, Ammonium metavanadate will be oxidized into vanadium pentoxide ,and Ammonium metavanadate’s toxic!
Uses: Ammonium metavanadate used as chemical reagent, catalyst, drier, mordant and enamel,and for making high pure vanadium pentoxide.
